BTEC Level 3 Sport
Students require a minimum of 5 A*-C grades at GCSE (new GCSE Grade 4) or equivalent, including a grade 4 or above in English or Mathematics.
The course covers a range of units relating to sports coaching and sports science, including human anatomy, fitness testing and training, sports injuries, nutrition and health. Students will also complete work experience in the sports industry.
Assessment is ongoing throughout the two years and includes externally assessed exams, assignments, presentations and practical assessments.
Into the future…
Students who study this subject along with science at Level 3 can progress on to health care fields related to the sports industry, such as physiotherapy. Alternatively, students may use this qualification to gain employment in a specialist area within the sports industry.
